Talking about Araukania Kuintet, is talking about a special project recorded on 2003 in La Habana, at Pablo Milane´s studios.The project was created as a tribute to the great Chilean composers and singers Violeta Parra and Victor Jara, keeping strictly the musical lines of their songs but looking for a Jazz and World Music reading.This 2008, after 10 tours in Europe and Latin America, the project project is a meeting of the most important chilean musicians living around the world, from USA to Germany, from Italy to Canada. Leaded by percussionist Giorgio Varas( Billy Cobham, Jeff Berlin, Airt Moreira, Gilberto Gil, Tata Huines), the band features, among others, pianist Pablo Paredes (Charly Mariano, Alex Acuña, Danny Gotlieb, Marcus Stockhausen) . The last European tour featured the great Franco Ambrosetti on trumpet (18 concerts in 3 countries).On summer 2008, Araukania Kuintet will feature the live action paiting performance of one of the most important young Chilean painters, resident in Europe: Cristián Zurita. The show: EYES & EARS, is a bidimensional performance of improvisation, colour and  textures from both, music and painting.Araukania Kuintet: the chilean cult band of this century and his music belolnging to the emotional memory of Latin America with an international sound.
